METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:

The first of three waves is moving through Wednesday morning. Heavy rains across the entire area. Rain will continue throughout the day Wednesday, but we’ll see a lull in the precipitation in the late morning and early afternoon. Heavy rain will return Wednesday evening with the second wave/storm. This storm will also bring gusty winds, especially along the coast. Winds will be 25-45 mph with gust 55-70 mph along the coast and 10-20 mph inland.

The third wave moves through Thursday morning, bringing more heavy rain and gusty winds. As the center of the storm slides over the area in the afternoon, it will provide that extra bit of energy to spark some thunderstorms. The snowline will lower to 4,500 feet, bringing snow showers down to pass levels. Isolated showers will continue Thursday into early Friday morning.

High pressure will build Friday. Showers will end and more sunshine will return to the area. We’ll also see temperature climb into the low to mid 60s, possibly warmer depending on how much sun an area sees.

Dry weather continues through most of Saturday, before another storm moves in Saturday evening into Sunday. Rain showers will return across the area, even up to 7,000 feet.

Have a wonderful wet and windy Wednesday!
